Starting off with a cute scene where Subaru's reading a cat magazine chilling on the floor next to Haru that's taking a nap and eventually, he falls asleep. In his dream we go back to the time when Subaru was a kid, it's bedtime and he's sleeping with his parents telling them about a book he memorized, The Moon and the Sun. After that, we see when Hiroto and his family move into the neighborhood. Then there's a skip to his college days when he's beginning to write a book and his parents found out. We see his growth as a writer from writing on his own to winning a novel competition to having his volume be published for the first time.
He wakes up to Hiroto making a mess out of the house after falling from trying to not step on Haru's tail. To Subaru's surprise, Hiroto has brought The Sun and the Moon 2 that he wrote as a kid and Hiroto had apparently borrowed it for his siblings in high school. Hiroto talks about how Subaru becomes brain-dead whenever he's reading books. Like when they were kids and he fell into a river whilst reading and walking at the same time. Soon after that Subaru collapses from a cold. I don't understand how you can catch a cold that makes you collapse from a quick nap on the floor. Subaru should really get a health check-up. Kawase arrives and turns into a mom. Together, Hiroto and Kawase nurse Subaru.
As Hiroto and Kawase are wreaking havoc in the kitchen Haru gets onto Subaru's chest where she falls asleep with the thought "Why is it that just being beside you makes me feel so many different things? ... but it's not bad". Such an adorable scene.
Winding back time to when Haru wakes up from her nap with Subaru sleeping on the floor, she's hungry and the food bowl is empty. She comes up with the idea that having food ready for Subaru would make him happy and heads to the kitchen. That's when Hiroto comes and startles her so she jumps up on the cabinet.
The episode ends with the parallel of Subaru and Haru being the Sun and the Moon from the book. This was a very nice episode where we got to see Subaru's journey as a writer, how he and Hiroto became friends and how he and Haru are even closer both caring for each other. From Subaru reading cat magazines to learn about a cat's feelings, Haru prioritizing Subaru over food and protecting him so Subaru won't have nightmares anymore.
