Black Clover Episode 72 (Episode Review)

[SPOILER ALERT]
Hot Spring Training arc: End
Asta is struggling, his strength won't help him in this situation. Being a musclehead doesn't help since his brain is basically getting fried from thinking too hard. He comes up with the idea of trying to activate the half-demon mode he was able to transform into when they were in the Witches' forest. He tries to come up with a way to transform going from just shouting "transformation" to jump into the lava (but stops himself). He recalls Mereoleona's words "a fool who doesn't know himself can't do it". From there he remembers Yami's ability to use ki by fusing it with his magic and muscles. Asta tries to do it and is able to use ki and sense black energy from his sword and lets it fuse with himself. He's able to transform and heads to the summit of the mountain.

He bursts through the monster that's in the way for Noelle, Leopold, and the others, and then quickly passes Yuno and the captains unable to stop him. Mereoleona draws him to her and stops his out of control state by throwing him into a wall.

Everyone reaches the summit to soak in the hot spring. Sol Marron divides the spring by making a wall. On the female side, Charlotte quickly knocks out from fantasizing about Yami and so does the Wind Spirit from a sip of alcohol. Mereoleona sees Lady Acier in Noelle and encourages her to surpass the Steel Warrior Princess, her mother cause her magic is crude and unsightly she has to surpass her using her own powers. On the other side, we have Yami convincing all the guys to peek. The episode ends with Asta refusing because his heart belongs to Sister.

So that was the training arc, two episodes where we learn more about Mereoleona, Noelle learns about her mother and Asta taking a step closer to mastering his new power. The training that rather than being physical training is more about knowing yourself. Quite a short arc with the hot spring trope, but what comes next, the Royal Knights exam coming up is what I'm looking forward to.
